Getting started

Get the most out of StockportThree minutes, then five habits

Not investment advice

Every company, number and note in this walkthrough is illustrative and is not a recommendation to buy or sell. Stockport is a research journal, not a SEBI-registered investment adviser.

Five habits that make it work

  1. Write why you own it, then keep the claims

Paste the research you already have, in any shape. Headings, lists and tables come with it. Stockport reads out the claims you’re making. Keep the ones you’re betting on, star the one the position rests on, and add what would break it.

  2. Write a note when something changes

Results, a concall, a management change. Tick which claim the note supports, strains or breaks. An event or a KPI reading can move a claim too. Every move is kept in that claim’s thought chain with what caused it, so a year later you know why you held.

  3. File as you read

Select a line in any note and file it as guidance, an event or an open question. Guidance is tracked against the quarter it’s due. Next quarter it’s all waiting in the stock’s Organizer, with no digging through old notes.

  4. Import your tradebook

Performance puts what your money made (XIRR) next to what your stock picks made (TWRR), with the Nifty 50 alongside, year by year. The gap between them is what timing and sizing cost you. It’s on every plan, including Free.

  5. Let Coach tell you what’s next

Add the stocks you hold and the ones you’re watching. Coach emails you before and on their results day and again when the filing lands, and on Saturday mornings it lists the steps your research still needs. It never researches for you, never writes what you haven’t claimed, and never recommends a stock.

Your journal

Pick up where you left off

Getting started on Home lists seven steps and ticks them off as you go. Your notes stay private. Stockport never sells or shares your data, and exports or deletes it whenever you ask.
